12 Februari 2019 – 05 Mac 2019,

A group of 10 students from Universitas Islam Sultan Agung Semarang (UNISULLA), Indonesia came to School of Civil Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia from 12 February 2019 until 05 March 2019. The main purpose of the visit was to attend intensive course in Traffic Engineering in School of Civil Engineering. The Inbound Mobility Program exposes them to international learning experience.

The Inbound Mobility Program was coordinated by Dr. Roslli Noor Mohamed (Director of TNE, SKA), Dr. Noraliani Alias and Dr. Norzurairahetty Yunus (Director of Department of Geotechnics and Transportation) with assistance from two TNE staffs (Nadirah and Nur Hayati Amilodi) and two postgraduate students (Raja Afiqah and Nurul Hidayah Hj Muslim).

In the Traffic Engineering course, the UNISULLA students learnt about traffic flow theory, traffic data collection, design of traffic signal control system and road geometric design. The lecture involves theoretical lecture, data collection on site and traffic assessment. Five lecturers involved in the Traffic Engineering course: Mr. Che Ros Ismail, Ir. Dr. Sitti Asmah Hassan, Dr. Nordiana Mashros, Dr. Mohd Khairul Idham Mohd Satar and Dr. Azman Mohamed.

The students were taken to various places in Johor to look into traffic conditions and relate it to traffic management plan. The courses incorporate theory and practice, blended with the local culture and social activities.
