JOHOR BAHRU, 12 August 2026 – The Faculty of Civil Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) successfully organised the UTM Bridge Model Competition 2026 – School Category at the Hydraulic & Hydrology Laboratory, Block M50, FKA UTM.
The competition brought together 20 teams involving approximately 113 students and teachers/advisors, comprising 8 teams from Maktab Rendah Sains MARA (MRSM), 2 from Sekolah Menengah Sains (SBP), 9 from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK), and 1 from Sekolah Menengah Teknik.
Participating schools included MRSM Kuala Terengganu, MRSM Pengkalan Hulu, MRSM Beseri, MRSM Muadzam Shah, Sekolah Menengah Sains Kota Tinggi, SMK Aminuddin Baki, SMK Dato’ Penggawa Barat, SMK Tun Syed Nasir Ismail, SMK Kota Masai 2, SMK Pasir Gudang, SMK Kangkar Pulai, SMK Telok Kerang, SMK Medini, SMK Seri Kota Puteri and SM Teknik Johor Bahru.

The prizes and awards were presented by Prof. Ts. Dr. Mohd Rosli bin Hainin, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.
Across both categories, UTM Bridge Model Competition 2026 brought together a total of 40 teams and approximately 230 participants and advisors from Malaysia and Indonesia.
