DEPARTMENT OF WATER AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING

Faculty of civil engineering

Department of Water and Environmental Engineering

To support its academic and research endeavors, the Department of Water and Environmental Engineering is equipped with modern laboratories and field facilities. These facilities are continuously upgraded to support cutting-edge research, innovation, and practical learning. The department strongly emphasizes student development beyond classroom learning. Students are encouraged to participate in research projects, technical competitions, international exchange programs, internships with industry partners, and community-based environmental programs. The department also actively promotes soft skill development through student-led organizations, seminars, and professional certification training, equipping students with the leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities needed for successful careers.

With a strong commitment to real-world impact, the department maintains strategic collaborations with government agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and major players in the water, environmental, and infrastructure sectors. These partnerships translate into collaborative research, policy advisory roles, industrial training placements, and consultancy services. The department regularly engages in community outreach programs aimed at raising public awareness on water conservation, environmental stewardship, and sustainable living practices, aligning with the national and global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Looking ahead, the department envisions becoming a regional hub for water and environmental innovation, offering solutions to pressing challenges such as climate resilience, smart water systems, integrated waste management, and nature-based solutions for urban sustainability. With a growing interdisciplinary approach and expanded global network, the department is committed to nurturing a new generation of engineers and researchers who are technically proficient, environmentally conscious, and globally competitive.
