AI-Powered Academic Writing: Crafting High-Impact Journals for Q1/Q2

8 October, 2026: FKA UTM. The Pavement and Transportation Research Group (PTRG), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), successfully participated in the knowledge-sharing programme “AI-Powered Academic Writing: Crafting High-Impact Journals for Q1/Q2” on 8 October 2026 at the D02 Highway Laboratory. The programme was delivered by Dr. Mohamad Haider bin Abu Yazid and attended by all PTRG members, together with nine postgraduate students. The session provided valuable insights into the strategic use of artificial intelligence in
academic writing, literature review, manuscript development, journal selection, and publication planning. Participants were introduced to practical applications of ChatGPT, Claude, and Scopus AI to support literature searching, synthesis, academic writing, manuscript structure, and the preparation of high-quality research papers targeting Q1 and Q2 journals. The programme created an engaging platform for knowledge sharing, discussion, and collaboration among academic staff and postgraduate students. It also strengthened the participants’ understanding of how AI tools can be used responsibly and effectively to enhance the quality, clarity, and impact of academic publications.
