PROGRAM SOIL MECHANICS EXHIBITION DAY 2026 🌱
Highlighting Hands-On Learning in Civil Engineering

Program Soil Mechanics Exhibition Day 2026 telah berjaya dilaksanakan di Fakulti Kejuruteraan Awam (FKA), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), menampilkan hasil pembelajaran, eksperimen makmal serta inovasi pelajar dalam bidang Mekanik Tanah dan Kejuruteraan Geoteknik.

Program ini menjadi platform pembelajaran berasaskan pengalaman (experiential learning) yang memberi peluang kepada pelajar untuk mempamerkan kefahaman mereka terhadap tingkah laku tanah, prinsip asas geoteknik serta aplikasi sebenar dalam kejuruteraan awam.


Menghubungkan Teori dan Amali

Melalui pameran ini, pelajar menunjukkan keupayaan mengaplikasikan konsep asas mekanik tanah seperti pengelasan tanah, pemadatan, kekuatan ricih dan analisis mendapan dalam konteks kejuruteraan sebenar. Pendekatan pembelajaran secara praktikal ini penting dalam membentuk kefahaman yang kukuh serta kemahiran penyelesaian masalah dalam kalangan pelajar.

Program ini juga selari dengan pendekatan Outcome-Based Education (OBE) yang diterapkan oleh FKA, di mana pembelajaran tidak terhad kepada teori semata-mata, tetapi turut menekankan aplikasi dunia sebenar dan keperluan industri.


Menyemai Inovasi dan Pemikiran Kritis

Selain eksperimen teknikal, pelajar turut menampilkan hasil kerja mereka secara kreatif dan interaktif. Pameran ini membantu meningkatkan kemahiran komunikasi teknikal, kerja berpasukan dan pemikiran kritis — elemen penting dalam pembentukan jurutera profesional masa hadapan.


Kepentingan Mekanik Tanah dalam Kejuruteraan Awam

Mekanik Tanah merupakan disiplin teras dalam kejuruteraan awam yang menyokong reka bentuk dan pembinaan bangunan, lebuh raya, jambatan serta infrastruktur kritikal. Melalui program seperti ini, pelajar dapat memahami kepentingan kejuruteraan geoteknik dalam memastikan keselamatan, kelestarian dan ketahanan struktur.

Bagi bakal pelajar, program ini memberikan gambaran jelas tentang pengalaman pembelajaran yang dinamik dan praktikal yang ditawarkan di FKA.

The Soil Mechanics Exhibition Day 2026 was successfully conducted at the Faculty of Civil Engineering (FKA), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), showcasing students’ learning outcomes, laboratory experiments, and innovations in Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering.

The programme served as an experiential learning platform, allowing students to demonstrate their understanding of soil behaviour, fundamental geotechnical principles, and real-world civil engineering applications.


Bridging Theory and Practice

Through the exhibition, students applied core soil mechanics concepts such as soil classification, compaction, shear strength, and settlement analysis to practical engineering scenarios. This hands-on learning approach strengthens technical competence and enhances problem-solving skills essential for future civil engineers.

The programme aligns with FKA’s Outcome-Based Education (OBE) framework, emphasising real-world application and industry relevance beyond theoretical learning.
