Driving Civil Engineering Innovation

Welcome to the Faculty of Civil Engineering’s (FKA) Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, hub for Research, Development, and Innovation. We’re proud to be a driving force in advancing civil engineering, with a strong commitment to impactful research.

Our university’s recognition as a Research University in 2010 motivates us to excel in academic output, particularly in research. Our work aligns with national higher education goals, focusing on key areas:

  • Frontier Materials
  • Innovative Engineering
  • Health and Wellness
  • Resource Sustainability
  • Smart Digital Community

FKA houses 14 dynamic research groups, each dedicated to pushing the boundaries of knowledge in their respective fields. We’re proud of the funding we receive from the public sector, along with crucial support from our university’s Research Management Centre (RMC). We’re also actively expanding our funding sources to include more international and private sector partnerships.

We also believe in the importance of applying our knowledge to the real world. Many of our faculty members are involved in consultancy work, which enriches their teaching and provides valuable expertise to external partners.

This platform highlights the diverse research activities undertaken by FKA staff. We aim to connect with visitors, government agencies, and organizations from the public and private sectors. We welcome opportunities for collaboration in both research and consultancy.

We extend our gratitude to our dedicated Research Team Members and Research Groups for their contributions.

We invite you to explore the innovative work happening at FKA, and we look forward to potential partnerships that will benefit our faculty, our partners, and society as a whole.
