Topic: Steel Fibre Innovations: Transforming the Precast Industry
Speaker: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Roslli Noor Mohamed

An associate professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, UTM. His research expertise includes concrete materials, fibre reinforced concrete, self-compacting concrete, precast concrete, and steel. Has contributed significantly to the field of civil engineering through various publications. Current Notable works include “The effect of fly ash and silica fume on self compacting high-performance concrete,” published in Materials Today: Proceedings in 2021, which has been cited 48 times. These publications highlight his contributions to advancing concrete technology and structural health monitoring.

Topic: Performance-Based Seismic Design of Structures
Speaker: Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohammadreza Vafaei

Currently an associate professor in the Faculty of Civil Engineering at UTM, he previously worked in consulting firms in Iran, leading seismic design projects for various structures such as tall buildings, air traffic control towers, and water reservoirs. His expertise includes seismic design, structural retrofitting, vibration control using passive dampers, and structural health monitoring.Has also been a keynote speaker at international conferences and has published approximately 80 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.

Topic: Earthquake Resistant for Structural Design using Eurocode 8
Speaker: Prof. Ir. Dr. Azlan Adnan

A member of international associations and serves as a Malaysian Seismic Expert for various organizations. Has received numerous awards for national and international level, including the “Innovation of the Year Award” at the British Invention Show 2013. Has also received the Fulbright US-ASEAN Visiting Scholar Award (2019) for research on Seismic Risk and Monitoring of Bridges. Has published over 200 technical and academic papers and has been involved in mega projects on seismic hazard and risk. Currently is actively involved in the National Seismic Design Code Committee of Malaysia and MESTECC Inter-Agency Committee on Earthquake and Tsunami.
