Department of Structure and Materials is the largest department in the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. There are currently 55 academic staff serving in this department, consisting of 9 Professors, 19 Associate Professors, and 27 Lecturers. This department is led by Ir. Dr. Noor Nabilah binti Sarbini, assisted by 2 heads of laboratories, 4 head of undergraduate panels and 4 postgraduate programme coordinators.
Department of Structure and Materials is being involved in undergraduate studies, postgraduate studies, trainings, research, and consultancy works in the field of Structural Analysis, Structural Design, Construction Materials, and Construction Management.
This department has strong research networks with local and international universities and many impactful industrial collaborations. This department also has an accredited laboratory in compliance with MS ISO/IEC 17025 known as Civil Engineering Testing Unit (CETU), and a Building Information Modeling (BIM) laboratory.
