Green highway is a highway that seriously considering sustainable principles in the planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of the highway. Malaysia Green Highway Index (MyGHI) has highlights five main elements of Energy Efficiency, Sustainable Design and Construction Activities, Environment and Water Management, Social and Safety, and Material and Technology. MyGHI is an outcome of collaboration research between UTM Flagship Project and Malaysian Highway Authority. This research project is started since December 2012. MyGHI will be launched by the Ministry of Work this coming 19 march 2014. It will be very excellent remarks for Malaysia and construction industry to response to reducing Carbon emission by 40% in 2020.
