I obtained my Bachelor of Civil Engineering in 1998 and M.Eng in 2002  from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).   I completed my PhD from The University of Western Australia (UWA) in 2008 in the area of Structural Health Monitoring. I started my academic career in 1998 as a Tutor in UTM. Currently I am a Senior Lecturer at Faculty of Civil Engineering UTM.

My research interest is in the area of Structural health monitoring focusing on vibration based damage detection. I have involved in several research projects in exploring new methods to detect damage based on vibration parameters. I am also an active researcher in the area of Earthquake Engineering and Artificial Neural network.

Besides being actively involved in academic and community activities, I am also an active member of the Board of Engineer Malaysia (BEM) and International Society for Structural Health Monitoring of Intelligent Infrastructure (ISMII).
